2025-09-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Scientia et Technica https://revistas.utp.edu.co/index.php/revistaciencia/article/view/25807 Set metaheuristics for optimising variable relationship problems in complex statistical contexts for quantitative data analysis. 2025-11-11T02:39:21+00:00 Jhon Jairo Mosquera Rodas nucleoides@yahoo.com
The research introduces Set Metaheuristics as an advanced tool for optimisation in problems involving complex relationships between variables in statistical contexts. This methodology is designed to address and improve efficiency in quantitative data analysis, especially when facing complex and multidimensional challenges in scientific research.

Set Metaheuristics is based on search and optimisation techniques that allow us to efficiently explore large spaces of potential solutions. Its application is particularly relevant in situations where traditional statistical models may be insufficient due to high dimensionality or non-linear interaction between variables.

This technique provides a flexible and adaptive approach, capable of adjusting to the particularities of different datasets and specific problems. By implementing Set Metaheuristics, analysis results can be significantly improved, identifying patterns and relationships that may not be evident with conventional methods.
2025-11-12T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Scientia et Technica https://revistas.utp.edu.co/index.php/revistaciencia/article/view/25829 Automated Optimization of Water Supply in Horizontal Properties: An Experimental Approach in Ibagué 2025-04-14T23:04:19+00:00 Omar Leonardo Leyton Mendieta leytonco@hotmail.com
This paper addresses the problem of shortage and instability of water supply in condominium apartments in Ibagué, through the design, development and validation of an automated prototype for water reserve and supply. The solution, based on control technologies, software-assisted simulation (CAD) and monitoring devices with microcontrollers, allows optimizing the use of space and ensuring efficient operation in situations of prolonged cut-off. A quantitative-descriptive and experimental methodology was proposed, based on the identification of needs through surveys, CAD-assisted modeling and prototyping, and field validation. The results show that, although the system presents good performance in low and medium hydraulic points, it requires adjustments in the activation of the pressurizer for high points. The proposal represents a relevant contribution to the sustainable management of water resources and can be replicated in other similar urban contexts.
2025-11-12T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Scientia et Technica https://revistas.utp.edu.co/index.php/revistaciencia/article/view/25894 A proposal for a fuzzy climate classification index for Colombia 2025-07-21T01:28:42+00:00 Juan Guillermo Popayán Hernández jgpopayanh@unal.edu.co Osnamir Elías Bru-Cordero oebruc@unal.edu.co
This study developed a fuzzy logic-based climate classification index for Colombia, integrating hydroclimatic, air quality, and topographic variables through a three-phase methodology. In Phase 1 (2010-2022), multisource data acquisition processed precipitation (600-8000 mm/year), temperature (14-32°C), humidity (28-95%), PM₂.₅ (6-35 µg/m³), and NO₂ (10-60 ppb) using IDEAM's DHIME portal and NASA Giovanni products, with quality-controlled interpolation. Phase 2 implemented a Mamdani-type fuzzy inference system in FisPro, creating 127 "If-Then" rules through nonlinear correlation analysis (Spearman >0.65) and expert knowledge, using MIN-MAX operators and adaptive weights (0.3 rural/0.5 urban pollution coefficients). Phase 3 geospatial implementation achieved 92.3% cross-validation accuracy (MAE=1.2, RMSE=1.8), generating vulnerability maps (0-10 scale) through QGIS processing. Results revealed extreme climate variability: precipitation gradients (600 mm/year in Riohacha to 8000 mm in Quibdó), urban heat islands (Neiva 30°C vs. Bogotá 16°C), and pollution hotspots (Barranquilla 30 µg/m³ PM₂.₅ vs. Leticia 6 µg/m³). The fuzzy index outperformed traditional methods (Köppen, Thornthwaite) by capturing nonlinear interactions, showing 15% agricultural yield reductions in high-NO₂ zones and identifying vulnerability thresholds for coffee rust outbreaks (>80% humidity) and urban heat stress (85% RH = 41°C felt temperature). The model's adaptive structure effectively addressed Colombia's climatic heterogeneity while overcoming rigid classification limitations, providing a robust tool for climate risk assessment under anthropogenic change scenarios, though future work should incorporate higher-resolution pollution data to reduce the 15% uncertainty in industrial zones.
