Abstract

Endophthalmitis is an infection that affects the entire eyeball; It can occur endogenously as part of the systemic spread of the infection or exogenously through the entry of the agent due to trauma, erosion, or as a complication of intraocular surgery. In this article we present a case of a patient with comorbidities such as HIV infection, chronic kidney disease and arterial hypertension who presents endogenous endophthalmitis as a manifestation of endocarditis due to an unusual germ, which led us to carry out a bibliographic search in PubMed, we only found one published case of endocarditis due to Streptococcus pseudoporcinus and none with endogenous endophthalmitis due to this microorganism.
