Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The request has not been previously published, nor has it been submitted to another journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to Editor).
  • The submitted file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect format.
  • It must contain all the data of the author(s) Full name, last university degree, institution where he/she works, city - country, institutional mailing address
  • The text is single spaced; the font size is 12 points; italics are used instead of underlining (except for URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures and tables are within the text in the appropriate place and not at the end of the text.
  • The text complies with the bibliographic and style requirements outlined in the APA Style Guidelines 7 for Authors, which can be found at About the Journal (https://normas-apa.org/wp-content/uploads/Guia-Normas-APA-7ma-edicion.pdf).
  • If you are submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, you must ensure that the instructions in Assuring a blind review have been followed.
  • All figures and tables are submitted in JPG format and are also editable.
  • Tables and figures should be placed once mentioned and not at the end of the text.
  • In the event that persons or living beings have participated in the research, the authors should accredit the bioethics endorsement document of the institution and/or the respective informed consents.

Author Guidelines

Articles should be submitted in the formats designed by the journal and can be downloaded from the journal's web page at the following link: https://revistas.utp.edu.co/index.php/miradas/pages/view/formatos.

These formats must be submitted in electronic format (Word). They can also be sent by e-mail to miradas@utp.edu.co. The data contained therein will be incorporated into the Publindex Bibliographic Base of MinCiencias.

The editor and/or editorial committee will study each article and decide on the convenience of its publication. In some cases it may be accepted with some modifications.

Bibliographic references are a very important aspect during the evaluation process of the articles. The evaluators will be quite demanding in verifying their relevance, timeliness and relation to the subject matter. In addition, each reference must be cited in the body of the text.

Figures and images must be original. Images must have a resolution of at least 300 dpi (dots per inch).

Miradas magazine is not responsible for the return of articles that are not approved by the evaluators.

Format of articles:

By clicking on the link Article format in Word. The fonts and font sizes presented there should be maintained.

The title should be specific, clear and refer to the work or findings presented, and should be in Spanish. Additionally, the title of the article should be specified in English, in order to give it visibility and allow its incorporation into bibliographic databases.

The name of the author(s) should be accompanied by his/her professional title, ORCID, current position, research group to which he/she belongs (if any) and e-mail address of the institution.

Each article should have a structured abstract (maximum 500 words) describing the introduction, objectives, methodology, most important findings and conclusions. In addition, this summary must be in English (Abstract). Each article should have keywords in Spanish and English (Keywords), written in alphabetical order. These descriptors should be as standard as possible, for which it is suggested to use international databases according to the area of knowledge.

Citations and bibliographic references should be organized according to APA 7th edition. All works cited throughout the article should appear in the list of references at the end of the text. The list should be presented in strict alphabetical order.
