Podcasting as a tool for learning in secondary education: a systematic mapping of the literature

Research on the use of podcasting in high school is scarce; previous reviews identify a need for more publications in databases such as Scopus and WOS. We reviewed the literature published between 2018 and 2023, applying the systematic review method to a sample of open-access articles from Scopus, Dialnet, and Google Scholar databases. The selection process identified seven papers that focus on the educational use of podcasts in secondary education and agree on their effectiveness within the educational practices of teachers in public and private school institutions. The article offers an exploration of research interests related to the use of podcasts in secondary education that provides researchers, educators, and institutions a baseline to continue exploring the contributions of this tool to learning.
