Publication standards

Types of articles

The journal miradas accepts three types of articles:

  1. Scientific and technological research article: a document that presents, in detail, the results of research projects. The structure must contain the following sections: introduction, methodology, results and conclusions.
  2. Reflection article: Document that presents the results of completed research from an analytical, interpretative or critical perspective of the author on a specific topic using original sources.
  3. Review article: Document resulting from a research where the results of published or unpublished research on a field related to the relationship between communication, education and culture are analyzed, systematized and integrated. It is characterized by presenting a rigorous bibliographic review of at least 50 references.

The articles submitted to the calls for papers must be the results of research, reflection and review and must not be under simultaneous consideration for publication by other national or international scientific journals.

The process of submission of articles should only be done through the journal's OJS (Open Journal Systems), which is the assigned administration system and through which control can be exercised.

The format for submission of articles has a series of rules for authors, such as the structure of the article, the evaluation format, the evaluator's data, the author's data and the assignment of rights.

Standard Citation Guidelines for Authors

The journal adopts the guidelines established by the American Psychological Association in its seventh edition (APA7) as its official citation and referencing system. This set of guidelines constitutes a widely recognized international standard for academic writing, particularly in the social sciences, humanities, and related fields.

The use of APA7 ensures clarity, consistency, and traceability of the sources cited, thereby enhancing the scientific quality of manuscripts and ensuring their compliance with criteria for indexing and academic visibility.

Authors are requested to strictly adhere to this system in both in-text citations and the reference list.
