About the Journal

The Miradas is the scientific journal of the Faculty of Education Sciences of the Technological University of Pereira, the publication process until 2020 was annual, since 2021 it becomes semester and is aimed at presenting the resulting intellectual production of the various research projects carried out by academics working in the area corresponding to the relationship between communication, education and culture. 

The Journal is indexed in Worldcat, Education Source (EBSCO), Academic Source (EBSCO), LatinRev (Flacso), and it is a legal deposit in the National Library. Miradas has been indexed in Publindex, which is the highest indexing system of scientific journals in Colombia. In the same way, the Journal participated in internal calls against the "Editor's Curriculum" of COLCIENCIAS that seeks to contribute to the qualifications of this type of publication. Miradas was printed with (ISSN 0122944X), however, as dynamics of cyberculture, to bring these publications closer to other digital scenarios (ISSN 25393812), and provide open access to the academic community, the Journal is published through the network under the Open Journal System (OJS) following codes of ethics.

In 2019, the Journal became a faculty project, that is why the Council of the Faculty of Education Sciences assumes the responsibility of promoting the debate on current topics dealing with Communication, Education, and culture. Nevertheless, the Universidad Tecnológica of Pereira, its directors, the editor team, and scientific committees are not responsible for what the articles analyze or explain concerning ideological, political, or other philosophical interpretations. Authors are directly responsible for the content of their articles.

Mission 

Contribute to the processes of social appropriation of knowledge from the online publication and free access to the results of the research processes carried out by researchers, teachers, and students within the framework of the relationship established between communication, education, and culture.

Vision 

Publish and systematize the research results built within the framework of the relationship established between the areas of communication, education, and culture. The Journal will become a collection and consultation center for the work related to the aforementioned areas both at the regional, national, and international levels.
