In order to understand the singularities and, at the same time, the generalities that make Egydio Schwade a unique person, we invite the reader to follow the actions of this indigenist at local, regional, national and international junctures in defense of the peoples of the forest. The challenge of a biography is to not lose the biographee in the context nor subsume the context in the individuality of the biographee. Here, this risk is minimized by the political and collective force of Egydio's lived and narrated experiences. From the mimeograph to social media, Egydio's work in the Amazon and other parts of the country leads us to think about the individual in history, in a dialectical motion.
