This text is the result of an investigation made with primary sources. It will show how, in an effort to teach and transmit national history, some teachers and the Colombian Academy of History itself have resorted to less conventional methods than «master classes», reading books, conventions and the like. In the specific case, it will be seen how the versification, or the use of album collection plates have fulfilled the function of teaching and transmitting. For this reason, the text will include many samples of both techniques of teaching history.
