Documents to demystify the origin of Pereira

The process of creation of the municipality of Pereira took place under the regime established by the Federal Constitution of 1863, commonly known as the “Constitution of Rionegro”. To understand this process, it is necessary to go back to the Organic Law of Administration and Municipal Regime of June 3, 1848. This law instituted the so-called Parochial Districts, locally administered by town councils, formed and regulated in accordance with the provisions of said legislation.
