Abstract

In the requirements of modern industries and workshops a speed controller offers the flexibility to improve the behavior of a motor that common on/off circuits doesn't allow. In these scenarios the thyristor are widely used to control the AC, power, because when they are properly activated their power loss is minimal due to the low resistance path between anode and cathode, also the external components are minimal and less complex, make them the perfect device for low cost application such a speed control of an universal motor. That is why we implement a speed controller for an 1200W single-phase universal motor
