Abstract

The main objective of this research is to determine the clotting properties of Ipomoea incarnata in clarifying industrial wastewater. Extraction and characterization of the coagulant were made to check and verify benefits considering the removal percentage compared to other common industrial uses. Jar test was uses to estimate the removal efficiency; analyzing and verifying that the powder obtained from the seeds of Ipomoea incarnata is effective in reducing turbidity in 99.18%. Finally the results reported in this article evidence that advantage of natural coagulants over the chemical ones.
