Abstract

El presente artículo es un avance de la investigación en curso Diseño de un Modelo de la Cadena de Abastecimiento del Sector Madera y Muebles de la Región Caribe de Colombia, el cual es desarrollado a través de la beca-pasantía Joven Investigador e Innovador de Colciencias. Se presenta una caracterización del sector, con el fin de establecer el estado actual de la estructura logística del mismo y los requerimientos de los procesos logísticos y de servicio en los segmentos identificados; así como un análisis de la cadena de abastecimiento, de tal forma que se identifiquen las brechas de los procesos logísticos (compras e inventarios, almacenamiento, planeación y distribución) frente a las mejores prácticas de clase mundial.
