Abstract

En el sector de la construcción de maquinaria, elementos de máquina y soportes de las mismas, cuya materia prima sean los aceros en general, y en el que se use la soldadura como método de unión permanente; se deben tener presentes las reglamentaciones de los institutos que emiten normas sobre uniones soldadas, tales como la ANSI/AWS. Además del cumplimiento de normas para las soldaduras, se debe prestar especial interés a los diseños de las uniones soldadas, de tal manera que, cumplan también con los requisitos de seguridad. Por todo lo anterior, este artículo pretende ser una guía aproximada para los diseñadores de uniones soldadas que, además de requerir una forma estándar de indicarlas en los planos, necesiten estar seguros de su desempeño bajo cargas.
