Abstract

En este artículo se presenta un estudio comparativo de algunas características y parámetros de desempeño de un motor de combustión interna operando con gasolina y con gas natural. Se implementa el software Stanjan® para la determinación de la composición de productos de combustión y el cálculo de las temperaturas de llama. Para el cálculo de otros parámetros de desempeño, comola presión media efectiva indicada, se lleva a cabo la simulación de un motor, mediante el software Engine Simulation Program®. Se establece el análisis e interpretación de los resultados y se plantean conclusiones en relación con las ventajas y desventajas de la conversión de un motor de gasolina a gas natural, desde la perspectiva termodinámica.
