Abstract

Isaac Newton 1 fue el primero en reconocer que la misma fuerza que produce la caída de los cuerpos hacia la tierra también produce el movimiento de la luna alrededor de la tierra. En cierto sentido, es posible hablar de la gravedad como la “goma invisible” que mantiene unido al universo. Al estudiar con mas detalle la ley de gravitación universal se logra obtener la descripción del movimiento de los planetas. Las leyes del movimiento planetario desarrolladas por Johannes Kepler se deducen de la ley de gravitación universal y del concepto de conservación del momento angular.
