Abstract

En este artículo se presenta la experiencia de diseño e implementación de un curso de estadística para ingenieros industriales basado en competencias. El estudio contempla las consideraciones de entidades académicas sobre los aprendizajes que se espera los estudiantes de ingeniería industrial construyan para su ejercicio profesional. El proceso de construcción del curso implicó el análisis de los contenidos que se considerarían fundamentales, la metodología en el aula a implementar y la modalidad de evaluación. Los resultados obtenidos a partir de la implementación del curso dan cuenta, por una parte, que los estudiantes lograron desarrollar competencias de tipo cognitivo y afectivo y por otra parte, que para los docentes esta experiencia permitió cambios sustanciales en su quehacer.
