Abstract

Las diferentes rutas para el procesamiento de metales en estado semi-sólido, o tecnologías de Rheocasting, se han multiplicado hoy día. Una de tales técnicas, conocida como NRC (NRCTM: New Rheocasting Process), ha sido usada aquí para investigar mecanismos adicionales que permitan la obtención de una fina morfología globular en la aleación A-356. Los resultados del análisis morfológico llevado a cabo mediante microscopía SEM, permiten revelar una morfología con granos de tipo globular, característica del procesamiento semisólido. La dureza promedio del material estuvo alrededor de 55HB y fue aumentada hasta 110HB luego de un tratamiento en solución
