Nano-composites reforzados con microfibrillas de celulosa aisladas de paredes celulares del raquis de banano
Abstract
En este trabajo, se aislaron microfibrilllas de celulosa (MFC) del raquis de banano empleando tratamiento químico con hidróxido de potasio al 5%. Estas fueron usadas como reforzantes del polipropileno, para elaborar nanocomposites por mezclado en vía líquida y compresión en caliente. Las microfibrillas fueron caracterizadas empleando espectroscopia infrarroja por transformada de Fourier (FTIR) y análisis termogravimetrico (TGA). Empleando microscopía de fuerza atómica (AFM) se ha establecido que los diámetros de las microfibrillas se encuentran entre 5 – 10 nm, los ensayos de tracción de los nanocomposites desarrollados reflejan incrementos en el desempeño mecánico debidos a la presencia de las microfibrillas aisladas.Downloads
