Desarrollo de materiales compuestos a partir de fibras de plátano modificadas con enzimas ligninolíticas
Abstract
La lignina es una macromolécula formada mediante una polimerización deshidrogenativa al azar de sus alcoholes precursores. Este fenómeno es causado por una oxidación fenólica realizada por enzimas presentes en las paredes de la célula vegetal. Trabajos previos han mostrado que su oxidación enzimática puede mejorar el proceso de auto-adhesión de fibras lignocelulósicas mediante la generación de radicales. En este trabajo se aborda la influencia que tiene el tratamiento enzimático con lacasa (polifenoloxidasa) sobre el desempeño mecánico de materiales compuestos elaborados a partir de fibras de plátano. Las variables consideradas durante el tratamiento de las fibras incluyen: la concentración enzimatica y el uso del mediador ABTS. Adicionalmente la espectroscopía infrarroja por transformada de Fourier (FTIR), el análisis termogravimétrico (TGA) y la microscopía electrónica de barrido (SEM) sugieren cambios sobre la morfología y estructura de las fibras debidos a la acción de la enzima, que pueden tener influencia sobre el comportamiento del material compuesto.Downloads
