Abstract

A pesar de que el efecto blanqueador del Cr, Mn y Fe es conocido desde hace varias décadas, hasta el presente, al menos en Colombia, no se comercializan ligas con estos elementos para fabricar oro blanco. La alta reactividad que ellos presentan figura como la principal causa. A partir del sistema ternario Cu-Mn- Zn, se diseñan y fabrican tres aleaciones o ligas, las cuales son previamente modificadas con adiciones de elementos blanqueadores secundarios, con el fin de que cumplan con el requisito de blancura definido por el método de ASTM Yellowness Index D1925.
