Abstract

Este artículo contiene algunas de las experiencias y resultados obtenidos con los estudiantes que ingresan a la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira a las carreras de ingeniería, tecnología, administración ambiental y química industrial. Experiencias académicas que se han venido realizando desde el año 2008 dentro de los propósitos del grupo de investigación Estudios1 metodológicos para la enseñanza de la matemática y las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones, EMEMATIC. En las actividades que se han desarrollado con los estudiantes se ha pretendido, entre otras cosas, evidenciar que las matemáticas no son simplemente números y ecuaciones, mostrar que sus aportes han permitido el desarrollo científico, tecnológico y la explicación de algunos fenómenos de la naturaleza, y la conexión, relación o contextualización de conceptos que se estudian en los diferentes cursos de matemáticas
