Abstract

La necesidad de incorporar en los procesos industriales funciones de control y supervisión, ha favorecido el surgimiento de aplicaciones de software que permiten monitorear, adquirir datos y controlar las funciones del proceso. Adicionalmente; la función específica de control se delega a un controlador lógico programable (PLC) y la comunicación entre éste y el PC se efectúa a través de aplicaciones estándar que facilitan el intercambio dinámico de datos. En este artículo se presenta a modo de ejemplo, el control de un sistema pick and place neumático por medio de un PLC y su supervisión se realiza empleando un software comercial llamado Intouch, el cual hace las veces de SCADA . El enlace de comunicación entre control y supervisión se realiza por medio de una aplicación llamada IPC Data Server. Así mismo se expone la metodología en detalle para la implementación de este proceso, teniendo en cuenta que se pueden incluir variables discretas o continuas y la generación de alarmas, tendencias, entre otros aspectos.
