Simulación de los procesos de obtención de etanol a partir de caña de azúcar y maíz

Abstract

En este trabajo se muestran las tecnologías existentes para la obtención de etanol carburante a partir de dos materias primas potenciales de la agricultura colombiana, la caña de azúcar y el maíz. Se realizó la selección del proceso más adecuado para ambas materias primas teniendo en cuenta factores económicos y ambientales. Finalmente se simularon los procesos escogidos, obteniendo resultados semejantes a los de los procesos reales correspondientes. Se demostró que las técnicas de simulación son una herramienta poderosa que permite minimizar tiempo, costos y experimentación en el diseño de bioprocesos como los de obtención de alcohol carburante.
